Miyazaki “Mizu no Sato, Aya” Shusen no Mori

“Shusen no Mori” is an industry tourist facility in the town of Aya, Miyazaki Prefecture. Since Aya possesses an evergreen forest referred to as Japan’s finest, the town was selected as one of the Mizu no Sato* by the National Land Agency (presently the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism). Shusen no Mori has a sake brewery which makes shochu (Japanese liquor similar to vodka), refined sake, wine, and local beer, an “Onsen” (hot spring), lodging, traditional crafts and restaurants. See, taste, and relax are the themes of Shusen no Mori. Shusen no Mori is a soothing area utilizing abundant nature and allows its visitors to relax in a peace and tranquility.
*Mizu no Sato literally means ”Town of Water”. This award is given to towns and cities in Japan which have clear, pure water.
