At a ceramics experience, visitors can make their own original art work while enjoying the texture of clay. In addition, at Magatama* (curved-shaped jewels) and hand-made Haniwa* (terracotta clay figures) experiences, visitors can try their hand at making their own ancient Japanese crafts.
*Magatama are curved shaped beads which first appeared in Japan during the Jomon period (14,000 - 300 BC).
*Haniwa are terracotta clay figures which were made for ritual use and buried with the dead as funerary objects during the Kofun period (250 - 538).
