In August, “Ukiha Fruit Village” takes place at the Michi no Eki Ukiha Roadside Station as a promotional campaign for the start of fruit picking season. If you’re interested in picking grapes, please inquire with the tourism association adjoining the Michi no Eki Ukiha Roadside Station. Visitors can experience Kyoho grape picking as well as fruit bagging workshops; interested parties may also inquire about the “adopt-a-vine” system.
Every year, 50 pairs of parents and kids are selected to kick-off the fruit picking season. The lucky guests enjoy picking Kyoho grapes, introductory pottery making classes and taking a dip in the hot spring! Some orchards even sell their own home-made jams and cakes!
