The Minamata and Ashikita areas are called “Kyushu’s Mediterranean Sea”. The Fukuda Farm was opened in 1970 on the Yu no Ko Plateau, which has a bird’s eye view of the Shiranui Sea. Located in Fukuda Farm is the “Spain Hall”, with its sweet summer sangria wine; the “Valencia Hall”, a Spanish restaurant which makes the best use of the seafood from the Shiranui Sea; the “Sevilla Hall”, where visitors can enjoy freshly brewed local beers and dishes inspired by various multinational influences; the “Pateo”, an event plaza and where Spanish imported goods are sold. At Sevilla Hall, visitors can try the Spanish Taipien*, a type of Chinese soup with a Spanish twist. For a fee, visitors can also try picking fruit. From July - August, visitors can pick Japanese pears, from August - September, visitors can pick grapes and from October - December, visitors can pick mandarin oranges.

*Taipien is a soup that originally was brought from China. It’s a soup with bean-starch noodles, a lot of vegetables, sliced pork, and shiitake mushrooms.
