Mitsuse Donguri Mura is a theme park where visitors can become familiar with nature and animals, and is modeled in the image of a rural village in the south of France. The village of Mitsuse, Saga Prefecture is currently the sister village of Cussac Village located in the French Bordeaux Region. The first thing that will catch visitor’s eyes as they enter Donguri Mura’s front gate is a building where hand crafted wine is made. On display are wines sent from Cussac. For 200 yen per glass, wine connoisseurs can drink their favorite wine from a selection of 10 varieties. These wines are also very popular as souvenirs. Located further inside the facility is a milk plant which makes delicious ice-cream. Also located in the grounds is a rest area to enjoy the fresh milk made at the milk plant. For those wishing to experience the Great Outdoors, Donguri Mura has a plethora of outdoor activities in its wide pastures. Visitors can do archery, roller skate and grass skiing. For those more adventurous types, there is a 160 meter long roller slide and a leisure facility. For those individuals who work up an appetite, please give the food at a restaurant named ”Chez Nous” a try. There is a healthy buffet menu.
